About Troodon Game Academy

We train people to do game QA properly. Not to play games for a living — to test them: systematically, with coverage you can defend, and with reports a developer can act on without asking you a single follow-up question.

Why we exist

Game testing is one of the few ways into the games industry that does not require a degree in computer science or a portfolio of shipped art. It is also one of the few entry routes that is genuinely open to people outside the big studio cities. What blocks most candidates is not talent. It is that every job advert asks for commercial experience, and nothing in the hobby of playing games produces it.

So the course is built to produce exactly that evidence. By the end you will have tested real builds under realistic conditions, run structured test suites, filed bug reports that have been reviewed and sent back for revision, and assembled all of it into something you can show an employer.

How we teach

Every session pairs a short explanation with a long practical. You spend most of your time in a build, hunting, not watching slides. Assignments are marked on the things a QA lead marks on: is the repro minimal, is the severity right, is the evidence attached, would this report survive being handed to a developer in another timezone.

We keep intakes small deliberately. Reviewing bug reports properly takes time, and a report that comes back with no feedback teaches nothing. If a cohort fills, you go into the next one rather than into a bigger room.

What we will not tell you

We do not promise jobs. Nobody honestly can, and courses that do are selling something other than education. We also will not pretend QA is glamorous: it is detailed, repetitive work, and the people who thrive at it are the ones who enjoy being precise. If that sounds like you, it is a genuinely good career with a clear path into production, design and development.

The name

Troodon was a small, sharp-eyed dinosaur with one of the largest brain-to-body ratios of its period — built for noticing things rather than brute force. It seemed a reasonable mascot for a job that is mostly about paying attention.
